The Jeep Wrangler Black Edition II is based on the Sahara version and features unique exterior upgrades including the seven slit grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, frontal Jeep logo, headlight trim, rear mirror covers and rear wheel cover. Other details include the raised bonnet and the side running boards.
The special version also features a Mopar fuel cap and a black cover for the spare wheel. The Dual Top including the three panel removable hard top matching the body work and the soft top is also a standard feature.
In the cabin, the Wrangler Black Edition II gets black leather seats and polished black inserts for the moldings, ventilation vent trim and heated front seats. Standard features include lateral front air bags and the UconnectTM GPS multimedia entertainment and satellite navigation system with 6.5-inch touchscreen, 40 gigabyte hard disk, USB port, AUX-in and DVD video reader.
Available in European markets starting this summer, the Wrangler Black Edition II will be offered with two different models (Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited) and two engines: the 200PS 2.8-liter turbo diesel and 284PS 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar petrol unit. Both engines will be mated to an automatic 5-speed transmission.
As for the Jeep Renegade, the new engine is a 1.4-liter MultiAir2 petrol unit mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission and the “Jeep Active Drive” integrated traction system. Available from March, the new version produces 170PS at 5,500 rpm and 250Nm (184lb-ft) of torque at 2,500 rpm.
With this engine, the Renegade sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 196 km/h (122 mph). Combined fuel consumption is rated at 6.9 l/100 km (34 mpg US), with CO2 emissions of 160 g/km.
