We’re expecting to see an all-new and much more modern Jeep Wrangler make its debut in 2017. According to previous reports, the company was said to be watering down the formula and in doing so they were going to ditch the traditional floating solid rear axles setup.
Now, Automotive News contradicts all those previous reports with news that the new Wrangler will, in fact, keep the system. Yes, the setup will be enhanced in order to provide better ride comfort, but it is said to retain the same basic design.
Other improvements that are to be made have to do with efficiency. Weight will be shed and aero will be improved, all in an effort to improve its fuel economy.
The choice of power plants is also set to change; future owners will most likely get to choose from a pool of turbocharged units all of which will be smaller than the current 3.6-liter V6 used.
