If there were awards for auto brands acquiring a million fans on Facebook, Jeep would be next in line to receive a trophy after Porsche, who recently tarted-up a GT3 R Hybrid with all one million fan names to celebrate its Facebook milestone.
“We are honored to be the first and only domestic automotive brand that can claim more than 1 million Facebook fans,” said Mike Manley, Jeep president and CEO. “This reinforces the fact that Jeep is clearly one of the most well-known and loved brands throughout the world, and comes as we continue to gain sales momentum and begin to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the brand.”
Facebook offers a far-reaching information avenue and allows Jeep drivers to share their photos and experiences with the rest of the world, including the automaker itself. Jeep fans and aficionados who haven’t found the official fan page only need to visit Facebook and search for their favorite automaker.
In addition to Facebook, Jeep has established a presence on Twitter, YouTube, and foursquare. The vaunted off-road brand is proud to affirm they were the first auto brand to create a foursquare profile, and has garnered over 5 million video views since joining YouTube in January 2006. |
