Promises To Annihilate All Other Muscle Cars
FCA has just introduced a whole bunch of new cars, and the Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock is probably the most impressive of them all.
Named after the Super Stock class of vehicles in drag racing, it’s based on the standard Widebody and has some very impressive performance numbers, with the automaker claiming that it is “the world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car”.
Built in the spirit of the 2018 Challenger SRT Demon, it packs the same 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine pumps out a staggering 807 horsepower (819 PS / 602 kW), 10 HP more than the standard SRT Hellcat Redeye, and 707 pound-feet (959 Nm) of torque.
The nought to 60 mph (0-96 km/h) takes 3.25 seconds and it can do the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds, with an exit speed of 131 mph (211 km/h). The top speed has been electronically limited to 168 mph (270 km/h) to protect the 315/40 drag radials that hug the 11×18-inch wheels.
The new Challenger SRT Super Stock also features Brembo brakes, a performance tuned assymetrical limited-slip differential and uniquely tuned Bilstein high-performance adaptive dampers, which are set to their firmest setting in Track mode. Other driving modes available include the Sport and Custom, as well as the Auto, which softens up the suspension. Launch Assist, Launch Control, Line Lock, Torque Reserve, Race Cooldown, SRT Performance Pages and SRT Power Chiller are also standard so you can make the most of all that performance.
Available in one of 13 different exterior colors that range from F8 Green to Hellraisin, Pitch Black, Sinamon Stick, Triple Nickel and others, which can be combined with Black, Demonic Red and Sepia interior tones, the Challenger SRT Super Stock will launch this summer. Production of the model is not limited and will continue throughout the 2021 model year, and although Dodge hasn’t announced the pricing yet, it did say that the first cars will arrive at dealers later this year.
