2,800 Original Miles
A desirable 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda with three previous owners and just 2,800 miles (4,506 km) under its belt is heading to Mecum’s Glendale sales event running from March 11-14.
Why did this Cuda get our attention? Because, according to the auctioneers we talked to, “per the seller, the mileage is since new”. Now, that’s something we don’t see everyday.
This Plymouth Hemi Cuda was built in September 1969 and sold new in Quebec, Canada and has been fully restored with new old stock (NOS) parts. Included in the sale will be a Chrysler Registry report and photos taken during the restoration.
Plymouth Hemi Cudas remain exceptionally desirable to this day, thanks in no small part to the massive 426 cubic-inch V8 engine under the hood that features a 4-barrel layout and churns out no less than 425 hp. The body is painted in Rallye Red and this color extends to the Shaker scoop on the hood. Helping to complement the bright red paint are some black stickers. A set of Rallye wheels with Goodyear Polyglas HT tires transmit power from the V8 to the pavement.
Inside, the car appears to have been well-maintained and includes a host of black leather and plastic components. There is also a Pistol Grip shifter and a series of wooden accents.
Other key features of the car include the original fender tag, power brakes, dual exhaust tips, elastomeric bumpers, hood hold-down pins, and painted dual mirrors.
The auction house expects the muscle car to sell for between $165,000 and $180,000.
