Turning 100 years old this year, the 2007 Detroit Auto Show, also known by its fancy North American International Auto Show moniker, is arguably the world's most significant auto show. Every year, foreign and domestic automakers alike make numerous major introductions at Detroit's Cobo Center.

This year is no different, with some 50 production and concept vehicles set for world debuts under the Detroit show spotlight. Here's a quick look at everything we can tell you about right now, along with links to previous coverage, photos and information on each vehicle.

Be sure to keep checking back for more updates as the show draws closer and don't miss our complete coverage of the 2007 Detroit Auto Show during the show press days, January 7-9.
Mitsubishi Prototype X

Mitsubishi isn't saying much about the Prototype X, choosing to wait until the show instead. They have said, however, that the Prototype X is closely related to the Lancer.

The resemblance can be clearly seen in this sketch of the Prototype X that Mitsubishi released. The Prototype X looks substantially more aggressive than the Lancer, thanks to the dual hood scoops, large trapezoid grille, and dual exhausts. Mitsubishi says that the Prototype X 'hints' at the production model, but nobody except them knows how much of the Prototype is production ready.
Chrysler Nassau Concept

The Chrysler Nassau looks like a modern interpretation of the Virgil Exner-era Chrysler hardtop station wagons and is built on the same 120-inch-wheelbase LX platform as the 300C. The Nassau will be powered by the 425-horsepower 6.1 liter Hemi V8 that's found in STR8 versions of the three LX-platform cars in currently in production.
Jeep Trailhawk Concept

The Jeep Trailhawk uses the new Wrangler Unlimited's underpinnings, with a Grand Cherokee design theme. It serves as a concept for a more rationally priced Range Rover Sport competitor.

The Trailhawk has 4.6 inches more of ground clearance than the Grand Cherokee and has the Wrangler Unlimited's approach/departure angles. Power is supplied by a 3.0-liter diesel V6 that feature's DaimlerChrysler's Bluetec technology.
2008 Dodge Viper

The 2008 Dodge Viper may look similar to its predecessor, but its performance is very different. With 600 horsepower now coiled in the Viper's revised SRT-10 engine, a 90 horsepower gain has been realized over the current model.
2008 Mitsubishi Lancer

As Mitsubishi promised, the new Lancer carries many design elements seen on its Concept X vehicle. Underpinning the car is Mitsubishi's new global platform that was first used on the 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander.
