Mental As Pickups Get
This is the Jeep Gladiator Maximus 1000 from Hennessey Performance and, pretty much like any other vehicle from the Texas tuner, it is utterly insane.
The first thing to note about the Gladiator Maximum 1000 is that it features a 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 that normally resides in either a Dodge Challenger or a Charger. Ordinarily, this engine delivers 707 HP. That wasn’t enough for Hennessey, though, so they decided to fit it with their HPE1000 upgrade which, as you guessed, pumps out 1000 HP. Torque also sits at a remarkable 933 lb-ft (1264 Nm) of torque.
Next, Hennessey turned its attention to other mechanical parts. To provide the pickup with a huge amount of ground clearance and road presence, it has been fitted with a 6.5-inch lift kit and King shocks. What’s more, it sits on 37-inch off-road tires and also features upgraded front and rear axles and driveshafts.
Hennessey also added some other nice touches, including automatic side steps and a custom diamond-quilted interior bathed in red and black leather. There’s also a really aggressive black bull bar up front that incorporates an LED light bar. It all looks rather muscular and we’re sure would be an absolute blast to drive off the beaten path.
What’s particularly interesting about this Jeep Gladiator is that it’s not simply a vehicle built by Hennessey to showcase what it can do. It is actually a customer-owned Jeep that was filmed and detailed shortly before being delivered. Regardless of where the owner lives in the U.S., they’ll be the king of the road (and off-road as well…) in this thing.
