In Just 24 Hours
If anyone had any concerns about how popular Jeep’s first-ever pickup truck was going to be, they’ll be allayed by the fact that the company managed to sell the entire run of 4,190 Gladiator Launch Editions in one day despite their hefty $60,815 price tag.
Customers who placed an order for the limited-edition Gladiator are also now exclusively eligible to enter Jeep’s ‘Find Your Freedom’ contest. The winner will receive one-year’s salary of $100,000 so they can take the time off to pursue any outdoor adventure they want.
In order to enter the contest, the soon-to-be Gladiator owners must submit a personal video with their Gladiator. The videos will then be judged by Jeep, along with US Army veteran Noah Galloway.
“The response has inspired both us at the Jeep brand and U.S. Army veteran Noah Galloway”, said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Jeep brand in North America. “So, while the details are still to come, we plan to ‘pay it forward’ together in a special way with Noah in May during Military Appreciation Month.”
The Gladiator Launch Edition will be distinguished by a number of unique features, including 17-inch mid-gloss black wheels and interior accents, as well as a special forged aluminum badge. Jeep selected to offer just 4,190 examples of the Launch Edition as a way to pay tribute to Toledo, Ohio, and its 419 area code, where the Gladiator is assembled.
Each Launch Edition of the Jeep’s pickup truck also comes with a body-color hardtop and fender flares, LED lights all around, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system, Forward Facing TrailCam camera, Blind-spot Monitoring, an 8.4-inch infotainment system and more.
Power comes from FCA’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 producing 285hp and 260lb-ft of torque and paired to either a standard six-speed manual or an optional eight-speed automatic transmission.
