A 10-Second Beast
Ten years ago, having a 707 hp road-legal muscle car like the Dodge Challenger or Charger would have made absolutely no sense. Heck, even in 2017, it seems amazing that such a powerful car is relatively easily available to the masses.
What is perhaps even crazier than the Hellcat-powered creations from Dodge itself are the custom engine swaps that have benefited more docile vehicles like the Ram 1500 and, in this case, a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.
Created in the U.S., this 707 hp Jeep, nicknamed Hellhawk, took to the Maple Grove Raceway in Pennsylvania and managed to record a blistering 10.8 second quarter mile exiting at 128 mph (206 km/h).
To put that time into perspective, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is almost a second slower, with an official claimed time of 11.6 seconds. A 10.8 second quarter mile also puts this Jeep alongside supercars like the Ferrari 458 Speciale, Acura NSX and Nissan GT-R. That's pretty impressive for something that could easily take the kids to school and handle all the grocery shopping.
