Dodge SRT Hellcat
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has just launched its 2016 Drive for Design contest inviting high school students across the United States to design a Dodge SRT Hellcat for the year 2025.
Now in its fourth year, the Drive for Design contest is focused towards students in grades 10-12 and has been created to help uncover talent for future automotive designers.
As part of the contest, students have until January 8 2016 to submit their entires online or by mail to the FCA US Production Design Office in Michigan. From there, a judging panel including lead designers from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles such as head of design for FCA Global Ralph Gilles and head of Ram Truck and Mopar Design, Joe Dehner, will choose the winners.
Of all the entries, four winners will be selected. The first place prize will include an Apple MacBook Pro, a three-week design course at the College for Creative Studies, three passes to the Detroit Autorama, a two-night stay in Auburn Hills, Michigan and dinner with FCA US Design team members. The second, third and fourth place winners will receive all the same prizes but rather than a MacBook Pro, will be awarded an Apple iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil.
Discussing the contest, head of Dodge and SRT Design for FCA Us Mark Trostle said “The Drive for Design contest exposes high school students to the potential of a career in automotive design. With this contest we're able to connect with young talent and offer useful tools and opportunities to help develop their artistic skills."
